How to tell if you have a BMW CCC iDrive
BMW is constantly working on iDrive interface changes, as well as introducing newer, more advanced hardware and faster processors to support new features. However, many BMW owners might ask the question of whether losing OEM features is worth the trade-off of getting better sound quality from an aftermarket head unit. Now you can find a variety of XTRONS units that allow you to maintain the factory systems.
QBTS89CC is specifically designed to replace your factory screen while to retain access to factory features like iDrive, to control the climate (air conditioner and heater), audio system (radio and CD player), navigation system, and the communication system. However, there are some key distinctions between the iDrive versions. If your car has a BMW CCC system, it’s possible to upgrade your factory screen with XTRONS QBTS89CC without losing anything. What’s more, CCC iDrive Systems was not originally equipped with the electronics required run Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. With QBTS89CC , you will enjoy Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
How do I know if I have CCC iDrive?
First you need to find out what you have and what features are available in your existing iDrive. There are four ways to determine which iDrive system you have:
1. By the year of production
This doesn’t guarantee that you will be able to determine your iDrive version with 100% accuracy, because in some countries the production month can be different. But at least you’ll have some understanding which head unit can be in your BMW.
2. By the interface
The majority of iDrive systems have specific interfaces, so it’s also worth checking out the look of the menu in comparison with other head units to identify the iDrive version.

3. By the factory CD & DVD slots:

CIC iDrive:
Single CD/DVD Drive on Head Unit : As the CiC unit features an internal HDD drive, there is no requirement for an additional CD/DVD drive for map data.
By LVDS connectors:
Different iDrive Systems use different LVDS connectors:
