Troubleshooting no sound in CarPlay and Bluetooth Mode on XTRONS Head Unit for Jeep Renegade

Postby xtrons » Wed Jul 31, 2024 9:33 am

If you are experiencing issues where you can't hear the caller or the caller can't hear you on phone calls in CarPlay or Bluetooth mode, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:

Example device model: IAP92RGJS

Step 1: Check USB Connection

The possible cause of this issue might be an incorrect USB connection.
If you connect the included plug for the USB connection to the black plug from the car, this may cause the error.
Swap this with the included double USB connection plug, and it should work.
Please refer to the following images for guidance.

Step 3: Adjusting Microphone Gain

Navigate to Settings -- Car infotainment -- About Device -- Select the gear Icon, then input password: 8878 -- Volume -- BT mic gain.
Verify that the gain is adjusted correctly as the default setting may be at 0, potentially leading to audio issues.

Step 4: Test the Microphone Using Google Voice System

[*]Using the Google Voice system to test the microphone and ensure it is working properly.
[*]Launch the Google Voice Assistant and try different voice commands, such as "Call XXX" or "Play music."
[*]Listen for a response or check if your voice is recognized correctly.

Step 5: Check ISO Wiring Harness Connections

If you also cannot hear the other person, please refer to the following images.
You should find four connection plugs from your ISO wiring harness that include a plastic coupling.
Disconnect them and rearrange the connections as needed.

Additional Tips:
If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be a good idea to double-check that all connections are secure and that there are no loose wires.
Ensure that your device firmware is up to date, as updates often contain fixes for known issues.
