XTRONS Car Stereos Bluetooth Function FAQ

1. Why Bluetooth Pairing Fails?
Bluetooth compatibility / functionality is not universal as there are many combinations of hardware, software, Bluetooth drivers / profiles, etc. and all need to match up correctly to have full functionality. When connecting a Bluetooth headset to a standard device for a standard application (like music listening or voice calls) the device will typically utilize a relatively standard Bluetooth protocol and hence a headset will usually be compatible without any issues.

The profile concept is one of the major benefits of Bluetooth technology and a key reason for the success of Bluetooth technology. A profile describes and specifies a use case. When implementing the use case you must follow the specification which ensures interoperability. There are a wide range of Bluetooth profiles that describe many different types of applications or use cases for devices. By following the guidance provided by the Bluetooth specification, developers can create applications to work with other Bluetooth devices.

2. How to pair your device with XTRONS head units?
When you disconnect the power, the unit will reset, and you need to go through the BT set up again, deleting the pairing on your phone and repairing with the unit. Please follow the steps below:

ON Stereo
Access Bluetooth
Select Link
Press the icon that resembles a phone and magnifying glass to access pairing mode

Whilst Stereo is in pairing mode on Handset

Search for device
pair with device
input code 0000

The head unit will not search for the phones, you will need to set the stereo to pairing mode and search for the stereo with your handset.

3. Troubleshoot your Bluetooth connection on XTRONS head units with these tips
1) Compatibility issue, change another phone and try it again
Bluetooth depends on both hardware and software to work properly. So if your devices can't speak a common Bluetooth language, they won’t be able to connect.
For example, iPhone running iOS 7 and newer should be Bluetooth Smart Ready as should Android phones running 4.3 or newer, Windows Phone 8.1 devices, and all BlackBerry 10 devices. Ensure your phone is running the latest version of its operating system, but if your device isn't new enough to run relatively current software, you may not be able to pair it with that fitness band.

2) Delete a device from a phone and rediscover it
If your phone sees a device but isn’t receiving data from it, sometimes it helps to start from scratch. In iOS settings, you can remove a device by tapping on its name and then Forget this Device. In Android settings, tap on a device’s name, then Unpair. After removing a device, start at step 1 on this list.

3) Phone contacts not paired with vehicle Bluetooth
when you try to transfer your contacts on your phone to the paired device, a message will appear on the other device asking if you want to accept the sent file and you need input the code to pair the Bluetooth as below:

Note: Some smartphones don't support contacts transfer due to compatibility issue.
