How to Fix No sound when having External Amplifier

Postby xtrons » Tue Jan 16, 2024 4:09 pm

This topic only relates to cars with EXTERNAL AMPLIFIER

Installed new the unit? Having no sound? Fix is easy.
The external amp have to be "triggered" with a specific wire called Amplifier Control Cable. Depending on the model, it can be found on different pins. (See Wiring Diagrams To find wiring for your unit)
Take Mazda for example:

    1. As per wiring diagram, you can see there is cable nr 26. It's coming out from the red socket (where you plug your cars' harness). This is the triger wire for external amp. It has to receive 12v+, so, you can connect it to ACC Wire nr 25. After you start your car, it should trigger external amp to turn on.
    2. Navigate to the DSP app in the apps menu and open the BALANCE setting menu, toggle on the “Ext Amp” option:

TIP: There is a cable from the ISO harness that needs to be connected to the supplied CAN cable and the CAN cable needs to be plugged into the C socket on the back of the unit, see attached photos:

    1. As per wiring diagram, you can see there is pin nr 41. It's coming out from the ISO (where you plug your cars' harness). This is the triger wire for external amp. It has to receive 12v+, If it doesn't get 12v+ from the unit itself, you can connect it to ACC of the car (You can use free-floating cable nr 18 as well as its connected to the same pin nr 41) . After you start your car, it should trigger external amp to turn on.
    2. Navigate to the DSP app in the apps menu and open the BALANCE setting menu, toggle on the “Ext Amp” option:

    1. As per wiring diagram, you can see there is pin nr A4. It's coming out from the ISO (where you plug your cars' harness). This is the triger wire for external amp. It has to receive 12v+, If it doesn't get 12v+ from the unit itself, you can connect it to ACC of the car. After you start your car, it should trigger external amp to turn on.
TIP: If you unit comes wth "Amplifier Box for BOSE Syetem", then the trigger wire is attached to that box. Connect it to ACC of the car.
